Well Water Treatment systems

Dual Tank — Well Water

Built for iron, sulfur and that rotten-egg smell.

Well water is a different problem from city water. This system pairs a softening tank with a Katalox Light tank to pull out iron, manganese and hydrogen sulfide — the cause of the smell, the orange staining and the metallic taste. Two valves, one per tank.

Best for: Homes on a private well

  • Award-winning softening resin
  • Granular activated coconut shell carbon
  • Katalox Light media
  • Both units equipped with high-efficiency smart valves
  • Designed for private well water treatment
  • 100% soft water guarantee
  • Self-cleaning system

Iron and Sulfur Removal System

Oxidizes iron and sulfur into particles that get filtered out.

Converts iron and hydrogen sulfide into particles the media can trap, leaving water clear and odor-free. Iron stains fade, the rotten-egg smell goes away, and your plumbing and appliances are protected.

Best for: Well water with orange staining or a sulfur smell

  • Injection panel
  • Granular activated catalytic coconut shell carbon
  • Hydrogen peroxide holding tank
  • Salt and brine tank
Whole-home UV purification system on a water line

Whole-Home UV Purifier

Kills 99.9% of bacteria with light, not chemicals.

Ultraviolet light neutralizes bacteria and microorganisms as water enters your home, so every tap is protected. No chemicals, nothing added to your water. Especially worth it on well water or after a boil-water notice.

Best for: Well water, or a belt-and-braces layer on city water

  • Kills 99.9% of bacteria and microorganisms
  • Chemical-free disinfection
  • Treats water at the point of entry — every tap
  • High-flow design, no pressure loss
  • Spare UV bulb included

The overview

How well water treatment works

Private wells are not treated by a utility, so whatever is in the ground is what comes out of your tap. Orange and black staining, a rotten-egg smell, acidic water that eats copper pipes — well treatment takes these on, sized to what your own well is actually producing.

How whole-home filtration works: city or private well water enters the home, passes through a whole-home treatment tank on the main line, then sends filtered water to the kitchen, bath and laundry. An optional reverse osmosis system under the kitchen sink adds a drinking-water step.

  1. Your water source

City water or a private well enters the home through a single incoming line.

  2. Filter first

The system sits on the main line, so water is treated before it reaches anything else.

  3. Clean water everywhere

Filtered water branches out to the kitchen, bathrooms and laundry.

What it does

  • Air-injection oxidizing filter clears iron and manganese
  • Removes the rotten-egg hydrogen sulfide smell
  • Calcite neutralizer raises low pH to protect copper pipes
  • Optional UV purification for bacteria — no chemicals to store

Questions

Well Water Treatment, answered

What problems does well water treatment solve?

Most often iron and manganese staining, hydrogen sulfide (rotten-egg) smell, low pH that corrodes plumbing, and bacteria — the last handled with UV purification.

How often should I test my well?

At least once a year, and any time the taste, smell or color changes. We test your well for free and size treatment from the results.

Do I have to store chemicals?

No. Air-injection iron filters use no chemicals, and UV purification handles bacteria with light rather than chlorine.
