Honest, licensed, insured, and good with homeowners
Our customers let us into their homes, so we hold everyone on the team to the same standard.
Subcontractors
- Active plumbing license in Delaware, Pennsylvania, or both
- General liability insurance, with a certificate we can keep on file
- Workers' compensation coverage, or a valid exemption if you work alone
- Your own truck and tools, and a business entity you can invoice from
- A W-9, and comfort working as a 1099 contractor
Installers and employees
- Authorization to work in the United States
- A valid driver's license for any field role
- A license that matches the role if you apply as a plumber
- Willingness to complete a background check if you are hired
- A good attitude with homeowners. Experience with water treatment is a plus, not a must

Questions
Working with Your Home Water
Do I need to be a licensed plumber to apply?
Subcontractors do: we only send installs to licensed plumbers. For employee roles it depends. Licensed plumber positions need a master or journeyman license, while installer, helper and apprentice roles do not.
What insurance do subcontractors need?
General liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage. If you are a sole proprietor with no employees, a valid workers' comp exemption may apply. You do not need to upload anything today. We ask for your certificate of insurance on the first call.
Are subcontractors 1099 or W-2?
Subcontractors work as independent 1099 contractors through their own business and send us a W-9. Employees and installers who join the crew are on our payroll.
Do I need water treatment experience?
It helps, but it is not required for every role. If you can sweat copper, run PEX and are comfortable in a basement or crawlspace, we can teach the rest. Tell us what you have worked on in the application.
Where do you hire?
We work across the Delaware and Pennsylvania counties we serve, out of Newark, Delaware. Pick your home ZIP code and the counties you can cover, and we will match you to nearby installs.
What happens after I apply?
We review your answers, then someone from our team calls or texts you, usually within a few business days. Qualified subcontractors get a call about upcoming installs. Employee applicants move on to a short conversation and then a ride-along or interview.
Your Home Water Filtration is an equal opportunity employer. We consider every applicant on skills, experience and fit for the role.
